Steps to Breakthrough Performance

There are three steps to achieving breakthrough performance the RiskIQ way.

Step one - establish where the client organisation is now as a system. This provides leaders with insights into root causes and a few key points of leverage (Technically, this is a Systemic Organisational Health Assessment).

Steps two and three follow a simple logic of plan and implement; however, the work necessary at Step two to achieve rapid and effective change involves an Essential Capabilities Map, strategic risk assessment and Critical Issues Assessment.

Step three is the critical organisational leadership work.  RiskIQ provides executive mentoring and coaching support at all levels, underpinned by tailored education and training.  Diagnostic tools are used to assess and feedback progress, so that leaders are able to adapt.

Step one - analyse and understand the current organisation as a system

Objective: To provide leaders with deep insights into the underlying root causes and points of leverage important to current and future performance.

How: A Systemic Organisational Health Assessment is carried out, using one or more systemic inquiry and analysis methods and tools.  These can include selective interviews, systemic data surveys, stakeholders’ workshops, followed by qualitative data pattern analysis and relationships mapping.  The objective is to quickly and effectively focus on the few key points of leverage for improved performance.

Step two - develop a robust plan for system change

Objective: To develop a robust, well-founded strategy and plan to break out from the status quo to a sustained higher level of performance.

How: A rapid systems design process is used to develop a single-system design for the future.  This is then used as the basis for an Essential Capabilities Map, strategic risk assessment and Critical Issues Assessment.  Together these artefacts provide options for action, and enable the creation of a clear, focused strategic plan for action.

Step three - lead implementation. Make the break from the status quo

Objective: To break out from the status quo, to sustained higher performance and capability.

How: This is critical organisational leadership work.  RiskIQ provides executive mentoring and coaching support at all levels, underpinned by tailored education and training.  Diagnostic tools are used to assess and feedback progress, so that leaders are able to adapt.
